Isthmus of Corinth a narrow neck of land connecting the Peloponnese to mainland Greece and separating the Corinthian Gulf from the Saronic Gulf and finally the Ionian Sea from the Aegean Sea.

Arriving in Sparta we will have the opportunity to see the archaeological museum of the area. This museum is rich in findings from the Neolithic to Roman times, but the most important places are the objects of the great sanctuaries of Sparta.

Nafplio, the town where Greece meets Italy. Built with stepped streets overhung with balconies dripping bougainvillea, handsome neoclassical buildings, and enticing shops and restaurants.

Place of the historian, the Monemvasia with the imposing rock and its famous medieval castle town of a unique travel experience. The walls, the churches, the stone houses and mansions, arches, cobbled streets, traditional accommodation, shops, and cafes – restaurants create a beautiful residential complex with a romantic atmosphere & cosmopolitan character.

Nafplio and Corinth Canal

DAY 1

Our tour starts with the visit to the Canal of Corinthos (Isthmus) which connects the Saronic & Corinthian Gulfs & separates the Peloponnese from the rest Greek mainland. After spending a little time in the Canal we proceed to the romantic city of Nafplio, which became the first capital of the Greek state in 1827 after the Greek revolution against the Ottomans. You will discover the medieval old town with the narrow cobblestone alleys & the neoclassical historic buildings. You will visit the Palamidi Castle (climbing its 999 steps) in Acronafplia & you will finally enjoy your dinner in a Greek traditional tavern by the sea while attending the marvelous Bourtzi, a small Venetian fortress located in the Agioi Theodoroi small rocky island. You will finally spend the night in one of the families-run hotels in the town.

Sparti

DAY 2

Sparti, a famous city-state in ancient times & the capital of Lakonia. You will visit the Archaeological Area (with ruins of the Tomb of King Leonidas, of the ancient Theater & of the Temple of Artemis), the Archaeological Museum & the Olive Museum.
We continue our day with the visit to the famous Mystras (an Unesco’s protected site). In this medieval fortified castle, located in the top of a hill, you will find palace premises of the Mystras Despots, the Cathedral of St. Demetrios, many churches & monasteries.

Monemvasia

DAY 3

A journey through the olive groves, orchards, and blue Aegean views of the famous Peloponnese countryside as we visit the unique Medieval rock city of Monemvasia. Apart from the ‘highlights’, our tour is also packed along the way with an abundance of UNESCO & Ancient sites.
